Rapid Response Team chaplains: Helping Canadians in their time of need

Our Rapid Response Team chaplains are specially trained volunteers who respond to community-wide disasters or personal crises, serving as the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are struggling in the midst of difficult situations.

When Canadian communities face challenges such as floods, fires or other crises, chaplains are deployed to provide spiritual and emotional comfort to those in need. Our chaplains have responded to the Fort McMurray wildfires in Alberta, flooding in Cape Breton, NS, and Windsor, ON, and most recently the mosque shootings in Quebec.

We are offering training sessions to Christians in communities at various locations across Canada over the coming weeks and months. We all know a friend, neighbor, or coworker who is struggling with a life crisis. The Sharing Hope in Crisis seminar (SHIC) will help you know what to say and what not to say to people who are grieving and enable you to compassionately and appropriately share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

This one-day seminar is suitable for everyone in the local church and is also ideal for counselors, church leaders and those who encounter suffering people on a regular basis. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer with this ministry, we invite you to join us for training. View the training locations, dates and times on our website, or call 1-800-293-3717 for details.

These are the following training dates in British Columbia:

  • Sept 23 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Praise International Church, Unit 103, 15310 103A Avenue, Surrey.
  • Sept 30 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Harvest City Church, 7416 Victoria Dr, Vancouver.
  • Oct 28 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Vancouver, BC
