Matthew 6:19-34

Humans are easily distracted - make sure you prioritize the most important issues otherwise you'll never make time for them. Focus first on God's kingdom so you will live a meaningful life with treasures in heaven. The pagan life is preoccupied with physical needs ("eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.")

Think like a refugee: it is worth it to leave everything behind to get into the Kingdom. Once you're in it, bring everyone else with you. Get to know your king and new world. Become a part of this new community and think how you can bless them.

Devote yourself to God's righteousness, emphasize holiness in your life and spread this to others; be willing to suffer for these things.

This life requires you to change your values, which will then change your priorities. We are called to live a life of faith in Jesus. Worry and fear paralyze and can lead to compromising instead of trusting God. God knows we have physical needs (see the Lord's Prayer).
