Psalm 37

David experienced many things throughout his life. In this Psalm we hear how the wicked are flourishing while the righteous suffer.

David writes that there are 3 soul-destroying responses believers must reject. Having a spirit of nervous anxiety; having envy and being tempted to leave the faith; having wrath against injustice such that evil acts are committed.

How should we respond? We need divine perspective: is God anxious, envious or frustrated?

The Lord laughs at the arrogance of the wicked when they plot against Him and His kingdom. Take courage in the Lord's strength and confidence.

Take the long view. The Lord will uphold justice now and in the far-off future.

Have hope and trust God: we will stumble and may be persecuted in this life, keep faith and remain righteous because the Lord will not forsake you nor your children.
