2 Corinthians 8:1-24

The situation of the miners that were trapped  in Chile serves as a parable to our situation with God, and the salvation He brings. the only one who could save these miners was an outsider, there was no way for them to rescue themselves from the depths they were trapped in. Scripture shows that Jesus is the outsider who can save us from our sin, because even though he was tempted, he did not sin. Just like Jesus, we may be called to leave the safety of our home and become a missionary and reach out to others in need. Even if we do not leave our country,  we need to have the mindset of reaching everyone around us. Do not be like the Pharisees, who wanted to separate themselves from sinners; be like Jesus, who sought sinners to bring them home. Just as the capsule could only pull one miner up at a time, each person must have their own relationship with Jesus.
